System status: all systems operational. Our network and phone service are up. If your phone or PBX shows "not registered" or calls to your free number are not connecting, it is because the free service has ended, not an outage. The steps below get you going again. View system status.
The free phone number service has ended
IPComms has discontinued the 2WAY free phone number (free DID) service, and the old system is being shut down. This page explains what that means for you and how to keep your number.
Had a free number with us? It has not been taken away. We have moved it to a 30-day trial on our current platform, and you will receive an email with a personal link to keep it for $3 per month (2 call paths, extra local numbers $1.50 each). Look for a message from IPComms titled "Your free phone number ends…". Check your spam folder too.
Keep your phone or PBX working
Your existing settings carry over. Make sure your device uses these values:
| SIP server / registrar / host | 2way.ipcomms.net |
| Username and password | unchanged |
| Port and transport | 5060 UDP (TCP and TLS 5061 also available) |
| Firewall allow list | 34.23.59.14 and 136.117.213.88 |
If your device was pointed at an IP address instead of 2way.ipcomms.net, change it to the hostname. Devices that keep using the old address will stop working when the old system is switched off.
What happens next
- Your number stays live during the 30-day trial.
- Use the link in your email to keep it. You will be asked to verify your phone and identity and add a card, and the first month is charged when you complete the form.
- If you do nothing, the number is paused at the end of the trial and released later.
